About Hadaba Point
Hadaba Point is a compact 300 square metre building in the El Hadaba district of Hurghada. The architect’s stated brief was clarity of composition, control of proportion, and integration of openings and materials within a contemporary language. The result is a facade organised around a sequence of arches at different scales, each internally lit so the building reads as a lit object after dark rather than a mass of windows.
Architecture and Design
The dominant motif is the arch, used at three scales: a large terracotta-brick arch anchoring the composition, a mid-scale white arch in front of it, and smaller openings behind. Panels with a raised geometric texture sit beside smooth plaster, so the facade alternates between tactile and flat surfaces. The layered arches produce depth in a very small footprint – an efficient response to a narrow urban plot.
